In total, 62-70 people. We have 30 bedrooms directly in the castle and a one-bedroom luxury apartment to the side of the castle.
Yes, all bedrooms must be taken on the night of a function. Please consult with our wedding co-ordinator if you have queries in relation to this.
Yes, all our rates include breakfast, which is served from 9-10.30am.
Yes, we have many local accommodation listings. Please ask our wedding co-ordinator for these.

Please note that bedroom check-in time is from 3pm onwards. 


Access to the castle on the day of a wedding is strictly from 2pm onwards. 


Where a wedding ceremony is taking place at Markree Castle, we recommend guests arrive ready, as access prior to 2pm will not be possible and public changing facilities are very limited.  


We cannot grant any request to prioritise rooms as they are pre-allocated by the wedding couple. Our team endeavour to have some bedrooms available from 2pm, however there is no guarantee that your room will be serviced and ready prior to 3pm. 


Check-out time is strictly 12-noon on the day of your departure. 

Generally, one hour and thirty minutes to two hours is sufficient for a drinks reception.
This can be worked out depending on travel and marriage times, but most eat between 5pm & 6pm.
You may bring your own wine and a corkage fee applies, this may be used for the meal only.
Yes, additions and personal preferences are worked out with you.
The function room takes up to 210 wedding guests. Children may eat downstairs in our Butler’s Kitchen, once supervised.
As the venue operates as a private function there is a late-night bar included in the package until 4am.
Generally speaking, we will do our best to accommodate your specific requirements. The first step will be for us to understand your needs by arranging a meeting with your Markree Castle wedding co-ordinator and from that, we can guide you on what can be done.
We are happy to hold a date for two weeks, after which we require a deposit to confirm your booking. Dates cannot be held after this time without a deposit.
A non-refundable deposit of €3,000 is required to secure your wedding date. Your booking is 100% confirmed once we have received the signed contract, terms and conditions and the initial €3,000 non- refundable deposit. 

A second deposit of €3,000 is required 6 months prior to the wedding followed by a third deposit of €2,000 2 months prior to the wedding date. 

*A deposit can be refundable in the event that we sell the wedding date again.
Check-in from 3pm strictly and rooms are not guaranteed ready until this time. Check-out is 12 noon.
There are plenty of churches in the area and we are happy to assist you with this.
You need to register with the local registrar and we are happy to assist you with this.
Most last in the region of 30 minutes.
Yes, you can invite up to 60 extra evening guests.
